Tick Update

The Sterling Community School would like to update parents/guardians related to the ongoing concern related to ticks on the premises. We have received guidance from insect control specialists as well as the Northeast District Department of Public Health and the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station related to interventions to eliminate the alarm caused by the tick issue. A collaborative decision will be made within the next few weeks in order to eliminate the issue and avoid potential risks to students with the exposure to pesticides.

Student Placements

The school year is quickly coming to an end. The staff at Sterling Community School are working hard to keep students engaged and excited about learning. They are also busy working on placing students into groups for next year. Please know that this is no simple task. There are numerous factors that need to be considered in order create class groupings that will prove to be successful. Due to the complex nature of building class lists, we will not be accepting parent requests for teachers.

Parent Survey Deadline Extended

May 22, 2017

Dear Parents of Sterling Community School Students,

At the Sterling Community School we believe it is important that we hear from you to help us understand how you view the school, and where we can improve or grow.
We ask that you take a few minutes to complete an anonymous survey about our School Climate, to provide this vital feedback. Your answers will be combined with those from other parents and will not have any identification connecting them to you individually.
Please complete the survey online by Friday, June 9.

On a computer, tablet or smartphone, use the browser to go to the EASTCONN survey page at the survey link address below, then enter our school’s Survey Code to give your feedback.

Our school’s Parent Survey Code:  STE233

Please contact the school office if you have any questions or concerns about this process.
Thank you for giving your time to help us better meet your family’s education needs.
